Inspiration
Many people decides to run/jog/be fit for the next year (New Year resolutions), but after a few days/months, they quit. With Walker app, I'd like to help people to avoid a sedentary lifestyle, a type of lifestyle with no or irregular physical activity.
What it does
This app allows you to set a goal: How many steps you'd like to take for the next minutes? If you accomplish this goal, you'll receive a message/call from Walker, your assistant in this app. She will congratulate you and encourage you to continue. If you fail, you'll receive a message/call from her as well, and she will motivate you to do it better next time.
How I built it
I used a Microsoft Band to track the user's steps and then integrated it with Nexmo Verify, Voice, and SMS services in a UWP app.
Challenges I ran into
This only works in Windows Mobile devices. I started building a Windows Mobile 10 app that uses a Microsoft Band to track the user's steps for this challenge.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Contributing to avoid sedentarism and health problems with the use of technology Developing an app that uses sensors (Microsoft Band) Integrating Nexmo services.
What I learned
Microsoft Band SDK, Nexmo APIs
