Inspiration

We wanted to build a bot for discord, and we wanted to do it in 12 hours. We're all anime fans, so why not?

What it does

It has a few functions, but mostly it just sends cat pictures, and waifu pictures. It also can pull from the google custom search engine API in order to send you pictures directly from google.

How we built it

We used Pycharm and started with a base discord bot tutorial, then added features and functionality as we went along.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with our build and our PATH variables, such as correct installation of various dependencies and setup of the Discord and Google CSE engine.

What we learned

We learned how to build a bot for discord, but also how to interact with various APIs, and how to use APIs in tandem to create code which does interesting things.

What's next for Waifu Bot

She'll stay as a bot on our server for now; we might be adding features to her as part of personal projects as we go. We all enjoy DnD so she might gain some features related to that!
