Inspiration
You cry out of the blue. You lash out at loved ones. You're overwhelmed, drained, not yourself. You've been stressed for so long, that's all you know.
Marcus gets critical feedback at work. His chest tightens. He doesn't know if he's angry, ashamed, or anxious, just that something is wrong.
James feels constantly anxious but can't explain why. The anxiety feels sourceless.
Aisha freezes during an argument. She can't articulate what she's feeling.
Humans have a sense called interoception, which is the ability to sense their body's internal state. But chronic stress breaks it. You can't tell the difference between a racing heart during a crisis and a racing heart while watching TV.
What if you could see what you're actually feeling?
What it does
Intero makes your internal state visible through your Apple Watch.
Listen: Captures heart rate, breathing, and tension in real time. Processes context: what's happening, where you are. Creates moment summaries, not raw data.
Identify: Detects when your body's response doesn't match the situation. Racing heart while sitting at your desk. Shallow breathing when nothing dangerous is happening.
Interrupt: When your nervous system overreacts, the watch gives a slow, rhythmic haptic pulse. Your body latches onto that rhythm and follows it toward calm.
Reveal: At night, open the projector view. Your week appears as a constellation. The anxiety isn't random. It's your body telling you something real.
Over weeks, you learn to recognize the patterns yourself. You've learned to trust yourself again
How we built it
Apple Watch/watchOS: Core platform for physiological monitoring and haptic feedback
Figma: Complete UI/UX design system and prototyping
Figma Make + Replit: Hand tracking interactions and haptic feedback implementation
ElevenLabs: Sound system and audio guidance
Google Gemini: Generated slideshow imagery and visual assets
What we learned
Your body keeps score: We carry stress long after our minds move on. Context is everything: The future of health tech isn't better sensors, it's better context integration. Numbers lie: Removing metrics and showing patterns instead was our hardest and best decision. Trust is the prerequisite: Privacy isn't a feature, it's the foundation for being honest with yourself.
What's next for Intero
In five years, when someone says "I'm fine," we want them to actually know if that's true. Intero isn't about productivity or wellness metrics. It's about restoring the conversation between your mind and body that chronic stress broke.
