Inspiration
There seems to be no easy solution for the complex problem that is trying to not only learn how to code but learn how to become the best developper no matter your age, skills or prior knowledge. Most of the current solutions are designed either for children or adults and don't give a feedback on progress. They are either completely gamified or completely course-like and therefore lacking the engagement. We wanted to unite communities, families and old-age facilities around a shared goal: become the best developper on earth.
What it does
It learns as you learn, engaging the user in an individualized experience by providing constant feedback and getting better as you do.
How we built it
Keeping gamification in mind we added the Augmented Reality touch into the learning experience.
Challenges we ran into
There were a few challenges we had to overcome:
- how to make W. accessible for everyone
- how to make coding, which can be very abstract, tangible
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We clarify the objectives and the solutions, we use learning personalization to get to the goal, with the data collected, the learning becomes personalized thanks to deep learning. We successfully added augmented reality in the learning process. W. is your new learning buddy.
What we learned
We learned different ways to get people engaged in a learning application. Also, we learned that the application design is very important.
What's next for W.
We would like W. to be accessible for people with disabilities. We user test it.
