Inspiration

We wanted to reimagine digital payments for a world that’s increasingly hands-free and voice-driven. Inspired by the limitations of traditional payment apps, VPay was born to make paying as natural as having a conversation.

What it does

VPay lets users make secure, seamless payments using only their voice. No cards, no swipes — just speak, and the transaction is complete. It’s faster, simpler, and more accessible for everyone, from busy commuters to businesses seeking smoother checkouts.

How we built it

Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS for a responsive, interactive interface. 3D visuals: Integrated with Spline to enhance the user experience. Backend: Python + SQLite for secure transaction handling. Voice & AI: Google Speech-to-Text and Google ADK for voice recognition and intelligent agent interactions. Payments: Stripe API for processing transactions securely.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into was implementing secure backend workflows while experimenting with ADK/A2A communication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a fully interactive, voice-enabled payment demo, successfully integrated 3D visuals for an engaging experience, and finally implemented encryption and biometric authentication for secure transactions.

What we learned

We learned how to combine frontend, backend, and AI technologies effectively, techniques for integrating voice interfaces into web applications, and best practices for secure transaction processing and authentication.

What's next for VPay

VPay is currently a prototype, but our goal is to bring it into real-world settings like stores, cafes, and fast-food restaurants. Imagine walking up, saying what you want to pay for, and VPay handling the transaction instantly — no cards, no tapping, just your voice.

Future plans include: Expanding payment integration: Supporting more platforms and merchants for seamless in-store use. Improving AI voice recognition: Making voice commands faster, more accurate, and able to understand natural language for a smoother checkout experience.
