Inspiration

A lot of people are uneducated about the upcoming election. During the 2016 presidential election, there was 10 questions that was commonly asked. I'm pretty sure, those questions will likely be asked during the 2020 election.

What it does

Basically answer questions for you about this upcoming election.

How I built it

I build it as a web app. I think this was the best choice because they can view it anyways as long as they have internet.

Challenges I ran into

Polling booths and ballot drop boxes isn't clear. There is no api for this. One would have to dig into the state's website, into the county's site, and even then it might not be displayed. Also this information is changing as we speak. Unfortunately this is the most useful information.

The MVP is built out!

What I learned

People ask the questions in interesting ways. I think I need to train with several hundred more questions before it's actually useful.

What's next for Vote Questions

I built out an MVP, I only handle like 3 intents right now. I want to handle ~10 intents. I also want to allow it for multiple languages so it's easier for people of all ethnicities to get the necessary information about the upcoming election.
