Abstract
We intend to create a device that offers a convenience like none other, and something that every college student has wanted at one point in their life. Our device, when attached to the back of a door, will use speech recognition and image processing to automatically open the door when one of your preset contacts knocks on your door and says their name, eliminating that frustrating need to get out of your blanket and walk to the door. Unlike other such devices, ours is voice activated, autonomous and passive - it doesn't require the user to actively monitor their door and let people in, and it can be customised for a unique set of "trusted" contacts that it will let in.
