Inspiration

In March I did a case study about brain drain and healthcare. When I saw this year's theme for Steel City Hacks, the idea came to me. After some research, I loved the idea.

What it does

VitalConnect monitors vital signs of patients with chronic diseases, and then transmits the data to the corresponding hospital every 200 seconds. We only have a software and a prototype in mind, so any coders or engineers who would like to join us on this journey are welcome!

How we designed it

Combining traditional wearables that tracks vital signs of health with advanced big data analytics to achieve recommendations

Challenges we ran into

there was a lot of research to be done and the technical aspects of it. We understood the practicality after research.

What we learned

Even if an idea already exists, and is done by a big company, that doesn't mean it is no longer a viable option. In fact, that means the idea is probably a good one, since companies are making profits off it. You should be encouraged if your idea already exists
