Inspiration

A couple of us have glasses, and we believe that if we can make it more convenient for us and others to choose glasses we like, VisionARy would be a great project. By recognizing the need for a more streamlined and user-friendly approach, VisionARy strives to integrate cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) technology into the glasses shopping experience. Through the use of AR, individuals will be able to virtually try on an extensive range of glasses styles, colors, and sizes from the comfort of their own homes. This innovative solution promises to save time, eliminate the hassle of physical store visits, and empower people to make well-informed decisions about their eyewear. By making it more convenient, accessible, and community-driven, this project holds the potential to transform the way people choose glasses, enhancing the lives of individuals with glasses and anyone seeking the perfect eyewear.

What it does

Put glasses onto your face using AR, and can be used to test your eyesight.

How we built it

We used replit along with flask/python/opencv/html for the backend and frontend, respectively. A website that connects to the actual feature. We have never used these before so its a new challenge for us.

Challenges we ran into

We have never used flask/python/opencv/css for a hackathon and have minimal experience outside of it. During the hackathon we learned new syntax and tried to debug errors that we ran into that sometimes we didn't understand.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating the AR that doesn't crash and puts glasses onto your face accuratly.

What we learned

We learned how to use Flask, Python, OpenCV, and how to do some more HTML and css.

What's next for VisionARy

In the future, we can always add more glasses and more clothing articles and improve the ability to place glasses onto a person. VisionARy can constantly be improved and doesn't have any shortage of ideas.
