Inspiration
We were inspired by the Ridge Counseling office's "Virtual Relaxation Room." We liked the idea of a website with mental health resources, but we thought it could be more immersive and relaxing.
What it does
Our website has a map with different locations around the world. You can "travel" to each one and be transported to scenes from that location, with a visualizer and calming music and sound effects so you can create a custom sound. You can also adjust the mood slider to change the brightness based on your mood.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on JuiceMind.
Challenges we ran into
We had challenges creating custom audio buttons for the audios, as well as downloading the audios for each scene. We all had varying levels of experience with the programming languages, but we were able to work together to create a website we are proud of.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our homepage, which we styled with location markers that move to encourage the user to click them. We are also proud of our mood slider, audio buttons, and visualizer backgrounds for each page.
What we learned
We learned how to use audios on HTML and gained knowledge with JavaScript.
What's next for Virtual Relaxation Airplane
We would hope to add the audios for the rest of the locations, and possibly add some fun facts about each location.
