Inspiration:
We wanted to create a personalized teaching assistant for those that don't possess the means to attend college, access courses specified for a certain learning goal, do their own research successfully on the steps and resources needed to learn what they want, or really anybody who likes learning.
What it does:
It is a personalized teaching assistant that takes in your characteristics, specifications, and learning styles, then creating a course tailored to your person and desired learning goal / field.
How we built it:
Created a back end program that uses Google Gemini and user specifications provided by the user, then utilizing prompt engineering and iterative frameworks to create a course specific to that user, and returning it to a front end dashboard / catalog of the users courses.
Challenges we ran into:
Getting gemini to work along with all of its dependencies, creating storage locations for user data, personalizing the courses to the user, refining ai produced messages to be the best they can, creating a cohesive front end that represents all of this seamlessly and easily for any user.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Creating something truly unique. We realized in our drafting stage that AI is truly capable of so much, and small programs that have a simple function are mostly already in existence. Finding a way to harness AI and use it for creativity and innovation is truly the future of technology, and we are proud to have done this.
What we learned:
A lot about Google Gemini, and creating something using AI as a powerhouse in the backend.
What's next for Violet:
We hope to continue working on Violet, broadening her personalization, and capabilities, ultimately creating a platform capable of great teaching capabilities. Education is one of our greatest allies in the world, so creating an app that empowers anyone to have the tools outlined for them to get an education, like how a university works, we believe is a necessary good.
