Inspiration

After numerous recent mass shooting tragedies of gun violence, we wanted to tackle a project that would help close loopholes in the gun purchasing process to help prevent future tragedies. Each year 30,000 people pass background checks for firearms that shouldn't, due to inefficiencies in an antiquated background check system. Our solution aims to close that gap while providing a secure, privacy-forward approach that offers value to purchasers, firearms dealers, and government agencies alike.

What it does

By offering verifiable credentials to potential gun purchasers, gun buyers can avoid privacy concerns and long wait times that arise in the current background check system. Gun shop owners can sell with confidence, knowing that users of this credentialing system are verified.
