Eco-Imapct

A small effort for environment, a repayment of tenfold by nature.

Inspiration:

We have seen people who don't have homes, or people who have homes but not enough water to drink. The biodiversity is also in disarray as there are many uncontrolled deforestation and poaching for rare items. Due to improper methods of harnessing energy, the environment gets polluted and both man and the wild gets affected as a result. This inspired us to make a change by creating some technology to counter the ill-effects of environmental destruction.

What it does

Our project aims to provide educational awareness and assist people in making informed decisions by incorporating Machine Learning and Deep Learning to make accurate predictions. The virtual assistant guides the users in making positive change to themselves as well as environment around them.

How we built it

We used Python and Flask to create ML and DL models and prepare them to integrate with the website. This webiste was made using HTML, CSS, Javascript. The Javascript is used to integrate various things such as chatbot into website. Kore AI is the platform used to make virtual assistant.

Challenges we ran into

We faced deployment issues and model training especially for Deep Learning. We didn't possess dedicated hardware and hence had to rely on network connection for cloud-based training.

What we learned

We learnt to optimize our method and gained some experience in working with deep learning models and learning more about extra features chatbot offered.

What's next for Eco-Impact

The project can be further enhanced by adding interactive maps which could tell: Possible locations of deforestation Areas that need more tree cover waste location, etc.

Our project could be linked with government organizations and municipal corporations for a collaboration to solve environmental issues.

Establishing direct connection between farmers and consumer retails such as restaurants and grocery stores.

Upon classification of waste, a system would be created which would suggest ways to deal with it based on what type of waste it is.

Feature to host VR Classes through website.
