Inspiration
We wanted to conveniently reduce the waiting times at vendors when attending big events (e.g. concerts, comic-con, movie conventions)
What it does
It allows vendors to make an account and show their products to convention-goers. Thus, it also allows users to find vendors who sell products that they want.
How we built it
.Net backend, React frontend, deployed with azure, MySQL DB deployed with aws, Using the material-ui api
Challenges we ran into
Most members were not familiar with javascript, which caused a learning curve for React. We tried to use AWS but that did not work because of compatibility issues and we switched to Microsoft Azure.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Establishing a working connection between React and .net frameworks
What we learned
We learned that sometimes a compete overhaul for a different technology is better and easier than brute-forcing a solution.
