Inspiration
One of the members of our team, Aiden, talked about how teaching vector fields to physics students is difficult as it is conceptually hard to imagine. We decided to create a VR experience to help physics students visualize vector fields.
What it does
It's a VR experience of vector fields.
How we built it
We utilized Unity and Windows XR in order to create the VR experience. The code controlling the x-y-z axis and the vectors (along with their relationship to eachother) is within C# scripts.
Challenges we ran into
Our team only had one coder familiar with C# and Unity. So, it was a learning experience for all of us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is the first time any of us have worked with VR. Additionally, alongside a highschool student, we had 2 beginner coders. So, this was an awesome accomplishment for us.
What we learned
We learned about Unity, C#, and the complexities of VR camera mechanics.
What's next for vectorVision (AKA pointiBois)
There's potential to make vectorVision more generalizable. We'd like to add an inport feature for Mathmatica equations in order to model more vector fields.
