Inspiration

Inspired by the popular first-person hero shooter game Valorant, produced by Riot Games. As Valorant is a growing game, more players are becoming competitive and forming teams to compete in tournaments. Our application conveniently organizes and hosts tournaments for players looking to take their competitive gameplay to the next level.

What it does

Val-T provides a convenient platform for both players and spectators to participate in online Valorant tournaments. The software collects various information from Valorant matches being played in tournaments around the world, which is then stored and sorted in our Val-T database to be available for user access. Depending on the user type (e.g. spectators, tournament sponsors, and players), the application functions vary and are suited to each users' needs in regards of their participation in tournaments; this is also stored in our database, where user's and their accounts are maintained. Details such as leaderboards, team/player statistics, and top teams are featured for a further immersed and unique player experience.

How I built it

MySql, React, Express.js

Challenges I ran into

Unfamiliarity with SQL/mySQL and connecting the databases to our website, with a 4 day time frame to complete the entire website.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Completing a fully functional website given the time, learning new skills to implement login functionality, connecting to the mySQL database, and most importantly, collaborating to produce a product we are very satisfied with.

What's next for Val-T
