Inspiration
Finding research opportunities at huge academic institutions like the University of Toronto can be surprisingly difficult. Opportunities are often scattered across lab websites, department pages, and individual faculty pages, making it hard for students, especially first years, to discover projects that match their interests. We wanted to build a tool that makes research discovery more intuitive and consolidated in one convenient hub. By combining a searchable database of opportunities with an interactive campus map, our goal was to help students quickly find labs, professors, and research projects related to their interests.
What it does
UofTVerse is an interactive platform that helps students discover research opportunities across the University of Toronto campus. Users can search for research topics, labs, or professors, filter opportunities by department or opportunity type, and explore where research takes place through an interactive campus map. The platform connects a searchable research database with a visual campus interface, making it easier for students to navigate the research ecosystem and identify opportunities that match their interests.
