Inspiration

From personal experiences we found that there are still quite a bit of people who do not know how to recycle properly, and that much of recycle gets thrown away. We found this to be a very important topic for sustainability.

What it does

RecycleRush is an educational game aimed at students between K-9th grade, with a goal to inform them about the importance of Recycling.

How we built it

The game was built with Python and the Pygame library. In order to work on the code together we used Visual Studio Code and the Live Share Extension.

Challenges we ran into

Testing was a bit inefficient due to only one person being able to test it quickly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning Python and Pygame better! We did not have any negative conflicts on the project

What we learned

We all became more familiar with python and the pygame library.

What's next for Recycle Rush

New levels can be added to Recycle Rush. In the future we can add leader boards and possibly deploy it to run as a web app that can be accessed through the browser, in this way we can save user's top scores. Smoother more robust animations, more sounds. Consistency across different machines.

Special Thanks

Thanks to Milly Lee for creating a lot of the amazing graphics!
