Inspiration
Many university students have skills, ideas, and projects but no dedicated space to showcase them or connect with others. UniLink was built to solve this by helping students build meaningful academic and professional connections early.
What it does
UniLink is a student networking platform that allows users to:
Create professional student profiles
Showcase projects and achievements
Connect with other students
Share portfolio links
Discover collaboration opportunities
How we built it
We built UniLink using:
React (TypeScript / TSX)
Supabase
PostgreSQL
Cloudinary (media storage)
Cloudflare (performance and delivery)
The system combines a modern frontend with a scalable backend for authentication, data storage, and media handling.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges designing a flexible profile structure, managing media uploads efficiently, and structuring relationships between users and projects in the database.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a functional full-stack student network with authentication, profiles, project showcasing, and real-time database integration.
What we learned
We learned how to design scalable full-stack systems, work with Supabase and PostgreSQL, handle cloud media storage, and build user-focused platforms from scratch.
