Inspiration
We ourselves were getting distracted while online school because there was no defined way for schools to make students focus during class time.
What it does
This extension firstly allows students to join a google meet easily and lets teachers know which websites the student has navigated to during virtual class. Our extension will send an email to the teacher with a list of all the websites that the student was on during the class period.
How I built it
We built UltraLight using Visual Studio Code, JavaScript, JSON and jQuery, and HTML/CSS.
Challenges I ran into
We had ran into many issues with sending the emails to the teachers. CSS was also a big issue as well as getting a dark mode system on our extension. We had to get rid of it because of time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We Accomplished a ton during this hackathon. Creating our actual project was one, and creating it in one day using new concepts. This was our first time making a chrome extension.
What I learned
We learned many things during this hackathon. CSS most of learned as well as new techniques and many many new concepts. This was also our first time building a Chrome extension purely from scratch. We may also publish UltraLight onto Chrome Extensions.
What's next for Project UltraLight
If we win a top place in QuHacks, we will use the money to turn UltraLight into an actual Chrome extension on the Chrome Extension store. Students and teachers would be able to use UltraLight for their daily purposes. We also would like to buy premium services that would allow the teacher to actually see the websites that the student went on.
