Inspiration

We enjoy the benefits that come from writing essays. The mental clarity is healthy. An occasional retweet from PG is profitable. Unfortunately, the actual process of sitting down and writing the essay sucks. And it has been remained virtually unchanged for millennia -- until today!

What it does

Talk with Twain, get an essay outline.

First you have a conversation with 11labs conversational AI. We automatically turn this conversation into an essay outline. This outline serves as the starting point for your writing process instead of the blank page. We also add references to websites and books for you to take your essay further.

How we built it

Supabase X Next.js for the webclient. FastAPI client w/ custom LLM logic for reasoning and analysis. 11labs Conversational AI for voice interaction.

Learnings and accomplishments

1. Replicated OpenAI's front-end with custom reasoning logic.
2. This is our first project using Supabase and Next.js.

What's next for Twain

So far we only handle the first step in essay writing -- the outline. Having a guided conversation that turns the outline into an essay is our final goal.
