Inspiration
Conversations on dating apps can be very awkward at first because it is tough to find something to break the ice. We hope to fix this by introducing a common variable between the two parties, allowing for a smoother process.
What it does
We used Twitter's API to retrieve data and make potential matches. We also used Android studio to program a majority of this app, using Java. Twitter API is unable to retrieve gender so we used a ML algorithm to derive the gender.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud of being able to properly format the UI and integrating the frontend work with the backend API calls.
What I learned
We learned how to use Twitter's API, make reactive java design frameworks, and make models for ML.
What's next for Tweeting for Love
In the future, we want to be able to make the UI sleeker for users and incorporate some location-based filtering in addition to the current ones.
