Our team envisioned a companion that could make the digital journey - vast and often impersonal - feel more intimate and relatable. Tutumon is born from the desire to humanize our interaction with blockchain technology, allowing your digital assets to become characters that guide you through NEAR and Web3.

What it does

Tutumon is a Chrome extension that animates your NEAR NFTs, allowing them to assume unique personalities and interact with you through a chat interface, providing guidance and knowledge about the NEAR ecosystem.

What We Learned

Diving into NEAR's blockchain and Mintbase's API, we uncovered the potential to not just view NFTs as assets - but as gateways to engaging experiences. We use NFT metadata and image recognition AI to interpret and animate your new digital frens!

How We Built It

We leveraged the NEAR Protocol for its low-cost and high-speed transactions, integrating with Mintbase's API to fetch NFT data. Our Chrome extension, Tutumon, uses AI to analyze NFT traits and image data, transforming them into characters that converse with users. The backend is a blend of machine learning models and a chatbot engine, fine-tuned to the quirks of NFT personas.

Challenges We Faced

Synthesizing AI personality traits with NFT metadata was unexplored territory. Ensuring Tutumon could interpret a wide array of NFT designs into coherent personalities required extensive AI training and creative problem-solving. Another challenge was creating a seamless user experience in the Chrome extension, maintaining performance without compromising on interactivity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of developing a new way to interact with NFTs that adds value and enjoyment beyond their economic worth. Making NFTs relatable and creating a bridge between technology and personal experience was - and is - rewarding.

What we learned

We gained insights into the technical aspects of NEAR and NFT metadata and the intricacies of building an AI-powered chatbot that can engage users meaningfully while deepening our understanding of NFT metadata, AI image recognition, and user interaction within the blockchain space.
