Inspiration

I normally struggle to find help in every classes at university.

What it does

Connect tutors with students more efficiently

How we built it

React, React Bootstrap, NestJs, MongoDB Atlas, Auth0

Challenges we ran into

  • Merge conflict, project not done.
  • We have not completed our project. At the moment, Backend (75% complete), Frontend (90% complete)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We connect with each other, and it was really fun and interesting. This is our first time in Hackathon.
  • Learn new skills

What we learned

  • We learned a lot about React, and Auth0 integration, and how to use MongoDB Atlas

What's next for TutorTap

Our future stage of TutorTap:

  • Currently, our backend is done with Auth0 integration (API Key, audience). For MongoDB Atlas, we have successfully test the tutors and students collection (has been tested via Postman API). For the frontend, we have 4 main page,: login, signup (for both students and tutors), finding tutors, and home page.
  • Our missing one is the profile of students and tutors. Therefore, that's our next stage of implementation. Besides that, we have not implement the API communication between the frontend and the backend (even though the CORS has been enabled in the backend code).
  • Future implementation: API communication, Auth0 testing, complete the Nest.js backend with API authentication and protected API routes. Besides that, we will also implement video chat features and message box for tutor and students interaction, profile page for each user.
