TripDesigner
We used persuasive design’s embedded system of obfuscation to intermix our underlying theme of helping our communities. Users can also build their own trip using the giant plus button. Many travel plans on the app include destinations of small businesses. Rather than emphasizing that our app helps small businesses we add the feature subtly within the travel plans. We also used AI generated images for all our content from Open AI’s DALL-E 2.
What inspired you
We were inspired by Maryland and the DMV area. With a two-thirds of our team not being from Maryland or from Maryland, we wanted to create an app for us to explore the area as travelers. We were also inspired by the prompts itself. The Subway Surfers prompt was perfect for our team. We also wanted to explore destinations other than the tourist attractions so we felt adding small businesses as the underlying motive would be a good idea.
What you learned
Two of your team members learned how to use Figma for the first time. We also learned how to make time to complete the hack while experiencing a hackathon for the first time. Our team was also able to attend 9 workshops while finishing our hack!
How you built your project
We built our project using Figma, OpenAI's DALL-E 2, and Dribbble. Our design process was being inspired by Dribbble's variety of projects, then moving to Figma to start building out our own features, and finally adding image content through OpenAI's DALL-E 2.
Challenges you faced
We ran into a few challenges such as not being familiar with all the websites above. We had to learn and teach each other how to use the apps above.
