Inspiration
Between 2016 and 2017, there has been a 52% increase in female solo travelers. However, females/minority woman are statistically proven to be more at risk when travelling alone. While other travel websites and applications cater to a general population with lengthy blog posts, travelher is a concise, streamlined platform where woman can easily identify destinations where they would feel the most safe.
What it does
The main functionality of this app is a rating system, where woman rate how safe they feel while travelling to various destinations. Additional features of the app include, emergency services, and currency exchange information.
How we built it
With the 12 hour time frame, our team was able to fully design the User Interface of travelher by designing wireframes with sketch and photoshop.
Challenges we ran into
Not having the backend experience to program what we want, and working with other UX tools we were unfamiliar with!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team is most proud of the uniqueness in the idea, as it identifies a gap in the Travel Industry
What we learned
Learning Invision and Python!
