Inspiration
booking.com
What it does
this website serves as an itenerary recommender for tokyo, japan. it shows preferences based on travel preferences, such as budget, type (entertainment, hotels, etc.). provided links for userfeedback such as social media, previous users experiences, and registration features. the user can also plan their trip using our map feature
How we built it
we used vs code environment and used live server to work on the code together. we used html, css, to implement the static website itself, and leveraged js to use the google api. we split the work based on page, debugging, and api work.
Challenges we ran into
making sure all pages were formatted equally and maintained consistency, disorganization between css files with multiple people working on the project at once, there was a lot of redundancy of variables which ultimately led to overloading. this made it extremely hard to debug html and css.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
the website looks clean, displays information well, is smoothly transitioned between tabs, and is animated
What we learned
we learned how to collaborate using git, live server, and live share. we learned how to leverage google api and also code using css, html, and js.
What's next for Travel Tokyo
implement backend to a be responsive to user info, potentially add more locations and implement chatbot
