Inspiration
40% of the items in recycling bins cannot be recycled due to contamination, putting everyone's good efforts to waste. As such, we need a solution that prevents unrecyclable trash from entering our recycling bins
What it does
Our smart bin lid detects recyclable and non-recyclable trash and prevents non-recyclable trash from entering the bin by simply not opening the lid, thus preventing contamination. Our lid is also customised to fit the Singapore Blue recycling bin and is thus easily deployable on recycling all bins across the nation.

We used the yolov5 object detection model and app development tools
