Trash Troopers

Inspiration

What better way to do social good than picking up trash. We wanted to create a game to get people excited about cleaning up the environment.

What it does

This is a riveting game where you, the player, battle trash monsters, as you attempt to clean up all the garbage.

How we built it

We used the pygame and python to make our project.

Challenges we ran into

We tried to implement a sword, cannon, and even an animated infinite map. However, we used these failed attempts to create our latest features such as trash monster fighting.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating the trash AI, which seeks and attacks the players when close.

What we learned

None of us had ever used pygame, and so we learned how to utilize our python skills to create a game. We even learned quite a bit from our failed attempts like procedural map generation. One of our favorite aspects is having the camera following the character. Due to this, we would have to update all of the game items by having it move with the camera.
