Inspiration

TrainingVR app is inspired and built with the vision that enables the users to visualize the hardware within real time . Through meaningful conversations with experts, we identified a pressing need for a dynamic and interactive tool that would empower users to explore, experiment, and innovate within the realm of data center architecture .We saw an opportunity to transform this outdated approach by harnessing the immersive power of XR technology.Introducing TrainingVR app —a groundbreaking platform that transcends traditional boundaries, allowing users to delve deep into the intricacies of hardware design. Imagine stepping into a virtual environment where hardware components come to life in stunning detail. With this , users can embark on a deep dive into the heart of their data center, manipulating servers, switches, and routers with intuitive gestures and controls. From adjusting configurations to optimizing layouts, every interaction serves as a learning opportunity, allowing users to refine their skills and expand their expertise in real-time.

What it does

Room Scan: Users can scan their physical space to obtain the exact dimension and to set up the virtual environment. Table Scan: Users can scan a table in real world to get the exact dimension and for a seamless design process in real time . VR And MR Modes: by using the one button interactions in the controller we can easily toggle the Virtual and Mixed Reality mode , depending on our ease and convenience . Server Configuration: Users can spawn the server in real time at the center of the table by using the button interaction B in the controller Hardware Interaction: Users can interact with the hardware ( servers, switches etc.) that are placed on the table and refine their skills by deeply studying them . HardwarePart Interaction:- by snapping you can easily snap the sub parts of a hardware which helps to understand deeply about that hardware :-how it works and what are the parts present in it. Menu Information Block: Users can hover or select items in the menu to view information. Ray Interaction: Interaction with objects using a ray pointer and it gives a detailed view about that part .

How we built it

Our vision for the TrainingVRapp is brought to life through the meta's presence platform, incorporating advanced features like Scene understanding for precise room scanning, Passthrough for augmenting virtual elements into the real-world environment, and Interaction sdk to make intuitive controller interactions including grab, poke, ray, snap and more.

What we learned

We learned many things like room scanning, table scanning and getting the real dimensions of the room to give the users a good realistic experience. Different interactions like grab, poke , ray make the user experience smooth and easy. Meta's documentation and sample projects and scenes were a real help because they provided us a good learning resource and helped us create our own experience. Other than that many Youtube channels helped us like Dilmer's, Valem,Custodian etc. which were a huge help for the app development.Through this app we have learned so many things about a server like whats inside a server and how it works .

What's next for Training VR

This is not enough for us , in the upcoming weeks, we aim to enhance the app’s capabilities by adding the advanced testing modes where the user don’t have any hints . Furthermore, we are aimed to ensure the optimal operation and add some more designs of hardware , alongside an actionable feedback on working process and maintenance strategies
