Inspiration

Around the world, millions of small and medium manufacturers produce high-quality products but struggle to access international markets. While large corporations have dedicated teams for compliance, logistics, certifications, and customs procedures, smaller businesses often face a maze of paperwork, regulations, inspections, and fragmented service providers.

During our research, we discovered that exporting is not difficult because of a lack of demand—it's difficult because information and services are scattered across dozens of agencies, websites, consultants, and logistics providers. Many businesses abandon their export ambitions before even shipping their first product.

This inspired us to build TradeHub, a platform designed to remove these barriers and make global trade accessible to every manufacturer, regardless of size or location.

What it does

TradeHub is an AI-powered global trade ecosystem that connects manufacturers with the services they need to export successfully.

Instead of navigating multiple platforms, users can access:

Documentation guidance Compliance requirements Certification and inspection agencies Customs clearance services Freight and logistics providers Export consultants Market opportunity insights

All through a single platform.

Our goal is simple:

Make global trade as easy as booking a ride or ordering food online.

How we built it

We designed TradeHub around a modular architecture, where each major export challenge is addressed through a dedicated service hub.

Core Modules Documentation Hub

Provides export document requirements based on product category and destination market while connecting businesses with verified documentation experts.

Compliance Intelligence Engine

Uses AI to analyze trade regulations, identify required certifications, and generate export readiness assessments.

Inspection & Certification Marketplace

Allows manufacturers to discover inspection agencies, testing laboratories, and certification providers relevant to their industry.

Logistics Marketplace

Connects exporters with freight forwarders, shipping providers, and transportation partners while comparing costs and transit times.

Customs & Clearance Center

Helps businesses understand customs procedures and find verified customs brokers.

Market Opportunity Finder

Uses data-driven insights to identify potential export markets and growth opportunities.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Global Complexity

Every country has different regulations, certification requirements, customs procedures, and trade standards. Designing a platform that could scale globally without being tied to a specific region was a major challenge.

  1. Information Fragmentation

Export-related information is scattered across government portals, certification bodies, logistics providers, and industry organizations. Creating a unified experience required careful platform design.

  1. Building Trust

International trade involves significant financial risk. We had to design a verification system that helps users confidently connect with service providers and trade experts.

  1. User Experience

Export processes are naturally complex. One of our biggest challenges was simplifying these workflows without hiding critical information users need to make informed decisions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a unified platform that addresses multiple export challenges—including documentation, compliance, inspections, customs, logistics, and market discovery—in one ecosystem. Designed a globally scalable solution that is not restricted to a specific country, allowing manufacturers worldwide to access international trade opportunities. Integrated AI-powered guidance to simplify complex export processes and help businesses make informed decisions without requiring extensive trade expertise. Created a marketplace model that connects manufacturers directly with verified trade experts, certification agencies, customs brokers, and logistics providers. Developed an intuitive user experience that transforms a traditionally fragmented and complicated export journey into a streamlined workflow. Successfully combined international trade services, AI intelligence, and marketplace functionality into a single platform capable of reducing barriers for small and medium-sized manufacturers. Built a solution focused on economic empowerment by helping businesses expand beyond local markets and compete globally. Demonstrated how technology can bridge the gap between local production and global commerce, making international trade more accessible, efficient, and transparent.

What we learned

This project taught us that many of the world's biggest economic problems are not caused by a lack of opportunity but by a lack of accessibility.

We learned how AI can be used not only for automation but also for guidance, decision support, and reducing complexity in industries that traditionally require specialized expertise.

We also gained valuable insights into:

International trade ecosystems Regulatory compliance workflows Marketplace design AI-assisted decision making User-centered product development

What's next for Trade Hub

TradeHub is more than a marketplace.

We envision a future where any manufacturer, anywhere in the world, can enter global markets without needing extensive export expertise.

Future versions could include:

Real-time trade intelligence AI-powered export assistants Automated document generation Shipment risk prediction Cross-border payment integration Supply chain optimization Global trade analytics
