Inspiration
Lunch was delayed, we were hungry, and we realized how important food is to our health. Yet here we are, in a world where healthy eating gets overlooked due to widespread misconception of what healthy eating is, where patients take their prescribed diets too lightly and ignore them, and where we just don't take food seriously enough.
What it does
Adhering to medically prescribed diets is critical for managing health conditions, yet motivation and self-discipline remain significant barriers. Trackabite combines telemonitoring with AI-driven guidance to tackle this challenge. With a simple interface, healthcare providers can easily track patient progress, while our AI delivers personalized recipe suggestions to keep patients engaged and motivated. Unlike traditional interventions with impersonal, automated messages, Trackabite offers tailored support proven to drive better adherence and lasting healthy habits.
How we built it
Sweat, tears, and sleep-loss. And a lot of scrap paper for unreadable brainstorming. On all seriousness, the project started off as a jumble of ideas, and we slowly built it from the backend to the front end, the components divided accordingly to each of our member's specialties and interests.
Challenges we ran into
As our first hackathon, we ran into the very first problem of collaborating on github. After agonizing hours of wasting time trying not to lose our hard work and merging files, we finally discovered the simple solution of each of us creating a new branch. Thankfully, after this, we did not run into any similar problems again. However... We lost our backend. And it stayed lost. While Yash worked hard and completed our backend, it was unfortunate that it lost connection despite help from mentors, Google, and chatGPT.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to think of an idea and actually trying to implement it.
What we learned
Collaborating on github, working with Chart.js, and a lot of git
