Inspiration

Our inspiration was to mainly tackle a difficulty in most online websites for cars, which is the lack of ease to just search for a car. To fix this, we created an easy table where users can input what they are looking for in a car, and the system will auto filter to the perfect car for the user.

What it does

The website effectively provides all of the information on current models and the Toyota brand, while also the current inventory given the SQ-Lite database and provides a filter search for the user to input and find what they are looking for.

How we built it

We used python's reflex framework to smoothly integrate the front-end and back-end all in one language. The power of python's libraries further enhanced our ability to connect to the database provided by the Toyota Sponsors.

Challenges we ran into

We were able to quickly connect the database and extract the information, but we had so much trouble trying to sort and filter all that information into a dynamic table, which we spent hours troubleshooting.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Actually submitting for our first ever Hackathon! We spent a lot of time planning and preparing and working as a team, and in the end we were able to access information from a database, display it onto a table, and filter through it with a search bar!

What we learned

We learned everything from scratch! The team met and the first thing we did was all download ubuntu to connect to a project, and learn Reflex from scratch. From there we all did our best to go beyond our knowledge of what we learned from ENGR 102 and apply Reflex to the best of our abilities.

What's next for Toyotapedia

We are considering adding Generative AI to enhance the Toyotapedia experience. Specifically, we are planning to implement it in order to generate images for all models, as well as generate costs to finance and/or lease a vehicle. We also want to potentially create a more dynamic compare feature, to compare cars side by side.
