Touching Grass

Inspiration

We were inspired during the hackathon, during which most hackers stayed indoors and never stepped outside. We want hackers to go out and connect with nature. This app can help them see and discover new creatures on Earth.

What it does

This app can upload any image to your photo library or take a live photo anytime and anywhere to receive information and a fun fact about a plant.

How we built it

We used Swift and implemented Google Gemini-pro-vision multimodal model API to retrieve information.

Challenges we ran into

We have no experience with Swift development, so enabling camera privacy was a bit tough for us.

We learned how to implement IOS apps and develop them using Swift.

What's next for Touching Grass

More features are customized to the user, so if a user has a specific allegory to plants, it will notify them.
