Inspiration
I was inspired by the UN sustainable development goal #3: to promote good health and well being.
What it does
The toothbrushing timer is started when the user presses the button to indicate the beginning of toothbrushing. A countdown begins for 2 minutes or 120 seconds, after which a tune is played to signal that the user has completed the minimum time for brushing his or her teeth. At any point in time, if Button B is pressed, the remaining time (in seconds) is displayed.
How we built it
I used BBC microbit MakeCode.
Challenges we ran into
I am new to coding so I had to learn the language from scratch. In the beginning, there were problems with the code and it did not work. However, after several attempts I managed to get the code correct.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I successfullly debugged the code to make the timer work as planned
What we learned
I learned basic programming, and more importantly I learned how to solve the problems that I encountered.
What's next for Toothbrushing timer
This can be also applied for other purposes such as for handwashing etc.
