Inspiration
Our friend a Japanese exchange student from Tokyo, recommended that cafe travelers visit while touring Tokyo. From there, we were inspired to create a website that shows the local’s recommended cafes based on a rating system.
How we built it
We built a website that shows the map that have the pins of user's current location based on the ip address, get the longitude and latitude values in float. When we click the each pin, it shows a pop-up window with the stats. We connected frontend and the backend using python and for the framework we used django.
Challenges we ran into
We coded the python files that creates the sql database and saves the user input data for the both registration and rating system, but we did not have enough time to learn and figure out where we should put the path in django so it can run.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though the project can't compile the python file in django framework, it works in separate project file. We kind of think that we are on the right track, we are proud of ourselves. We actually learned some stuff.
What we learned
None of us have an experience with using django/python, we learned everything that we use for our code!
