We built this using Next.js and React on the frontend with Tailwind CSS for styling. Our backend runs on FastAPI with Python and SQLite. We also created a Chrome extension using Manifest V3 to track browser activity in real-time. For AI, we integrated Keywords AI as our LLM gateway, powering our chatbot with GPT-4o-mini and function-calling capabilities. We used Lovable to rapidly prototype our UI components, and TRAE helped us accelerate our development workflow.

Timely tracks your productivity through a Chrome extension, calculates focus scores based on tab-switching patterns, and uses AI to predict how long tasks will take. It integrates with Google Calendar so you can schedule tasks with AI-predicted durations. The chatbot can even create calendar events for you automatically. One major challenge we faced was creating two synced databases, one for our Google Calendar and events, and another for our Chrome extension. We solved this by redesigning our databases to utilize the same structures, allowing us to feed our LLMs better, streamlined data.
