Inspiration
I am a startup founder myself and I figured out how difficult was it for startups to find organizations that could help their startup succeed or take it to the next level. I, therefore, decided to build a curated list that can be useful and accessible for startups. Thus ThrustX was created
What it does
ThrustX is a curated web app that provides you with an airtable database. We have accelerators, incubators, pre-accelerators, venture builders, boot camps, and more that allow for a startup to get an accessible resource where they can put filters, check out info about corporations, and more.
How I built it
I built it using google sites. I first created a google site that had some elements like text and images. I then added pages for the application form, faqs, etc. After this, I created an airtable database. I added grid and form views to that. I then LinkedIn the form to the organization page. I embedded the airtable view on the home page using the embed code option. After all of this, I made a bitly link for this page and then began to market it.
Challenges I ran into
I was unable to embed the airtable view on sites. I also had to figure out how to use google sites as I hadn't used it before
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I learned how to embed an airtable which I was able to do after I went incognito because an iframe is not safe and so google doesn't allow us to embed it. I also learned to build good functional sites and add forms to that.
What I learned
I learned building sites on sites. I learned making and embedding separate views of an airtable base. I had also created a notion page. And I learnt making a web app to an organization
What's next for ThrustX
ThrustX is now looking to get organizations to be verified and then listed n the base. Also a community of founders, organizations, and mentors that allows for mentorship and a resourceful community
