Inspiration

The inspiration behind ThriftForward came from our desire to create a more accessible, community-focused platform for sustainable fashion. We wanted to empower people to swap and buy clothes effortlessly while also providing a seamless way to support non-profits through donations.

What it does

ThriftForward is an intuitive app that enables users to swap, buy, and donate clothes with ease. By connecting individuals within their community, the app promotes sustainable fashion practices and simplifies charitable giving.

How we built it

We built ThriftForward using Thunkable, a no-code platform that allowed us to prototype and develop our app without extensive coding. The platform’s visual interface made it possible to focus on creating an engaging user experience.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development process, we encountered time management hurdles and technical issues. Debugging code and refining features under tight deadlines were challenging, but we remained determined to overcome these obstacles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re incredibly proud of our persistence and teamwork. Despite the challenges, we successfully resolved coding bugs, enhanced the app’s functionality, and collaborated effectively to bring our vision to life.

What we learned

This experience taught us the importance of clear communication and collaboration. Working cohesively as a team allowed us to streamline our efforts and efficiently solve problems.

What's next for ThriftForward

We envision expanding ThriftForward by implementing additional safety features, integrating a user rating system, and promoting the app to reach a wider audience within our community. Our goal is to make ThriftForward a trusted platform for sustainable fashion and charitable giving.
