Inspiration
One of our group members recently learned about the Water Crisis in UNICEF, which gave us the idea to talk about it in our app. We were heartbroken about the struggle of millions of children in the world that don't have access to water and wanted to spread the message.
What it does
Our app provides links to many articles that spread awareness about the lack of readily available water in many countries. On another screen, we also showed ways that the people that use our app could help the cause.
How we built it
We used live share to work on a react native together, using visual studio, and we split up the work to each work on a screen.
Challenges we ran into
We faced problems when coding the screens, which we eventually figured out thanks to the mentors, and one of our group members had trouble accessing the expo go using the QR code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we figured out the screens and, because this is our first hackathon, we are proud we finished.
What we learned
We learned how to learn to make an app and CodeHers really allowed us to broaden our knowledge on javascript, react native, and visual studios code.
What's next for The Water Project
We're not quite sure, but we definitely want to widen our skillset and improve it in the future.
