Inspiration
We all type. Typing is a fundamental part of who we are. But not everyone are able to type like we do, especially those who are visually impaired. So we wanted to figure out a way in which visually impaired individuals can learn to type.
What it does
The program is supposed to generate sounds, for different keys that are pressed. This would help the person associate the sound to the letter they typed and hopefully remeber the placement of the key. The program currently is not able to implement some of these functions.
How we built it
We used Java to program the components of the app.
Challenges we ran into
We had limited time in which to come up with an idea, and figure out how to make it into a possibility. So we had trouble making our program into a full fledged app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of coming up with a useful idea and figure out the base plan on how we will implement our idea into an actual project.
What we learned
We learned about inserting audio files into programs, and a little bit about JFrame and how it helps build GUI
What's next for The Talking Keys
We hope to expand upon our program and add in more functionality and eventually make it into a fully fludged app that anyone can use.
