Inspiration
In Egypt, about 3.1 million tons of straw are thrown every year. even more if we are talking about all kinds of straw, it would be around 22 million. Although straw is produced in a very high rate. But straw as being straw. is not any useful. Burning it for heat would damage the environment. keeping it without anything wouldn't do much either. So the only way our farmers found to get rid of it is by putting it for animals to eat. Animals died because of the lack of energy in the straw that they eat. In conclusion straw didn't really have a purpose but being environmental trash. once the plant died. It has nothing to do but burn at the end. But we found a way to produce environmentally friendly energy. A kind of energy that almost every country wants. Sustainable and green energy was the way to look for. And that is when. We got the idea of Straw-Hat project.
What it does
basically this project burns straw and produces pollution-free energy. and when we say clean, it actually doesn't affect the environment at all. it actually helps it from us burning the straw over and over again to generate heat which causes damage to the environment by the CO2 production. The project is made by 3 main components. lungs, heart and kidney. all of them has its own unique way to produce energy and complete the circle with each other.
How we built it
3this is an actual hardware process that we went through. to be able to see what is inside the boilers, heat-proof glass would be the way to go. with chemical elements such as Na and Cu. some metal and motors. and so on of stuff that were discussed more briefly inside the website blog
Challenges we ran into
A LOT of chemistry. this project was one of the hardest stuff I ever ran into in chemistry. so much calculations with a specific efficiency rates that one mistake could make the calculations less believable. But until now after running the calculations over 10 times, It is all correct.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
making this project alive. this project was thrown away in the past 2 years by my team, and I was the only one interested in completing it until the end. The fact that the project could actually help whole countries grow is what makes me so proud of continuing on this project. and the fact it can produce 5 MWH per ton of straw is HUGE. and that's in case of a small machine that can only burn 1 ton for an hour.
What we learned
chemistry, one of the subjects I was never interested in. But thanks to this project I believe I can face Walter White now =D.
What's next for The Straw-Hat project
the next for the straw-hat project is to be successful. by the next points of view
- analytics system for chemical anomalies and energy production.
- being proved by the government as a valid project (already working on that maybe by the time of this hackathon ends it could be done)
- advertising about the project to try and launch it in more places. to not just benefit us, but the whole world should understand and learn about life.
- upgrading the project. until a single machine that is the same size as a nuclear reactor can produce the same energy or more. by then this is going to be one of the main ways to produce energy around the world.

thanks for reading here. this is the link of the project website. link there is going to be a donation link in the website. use it if you would like to
