CleanSmart Living – AI Sustainability Assistant
Inspiration
This project was inspired by the growing need for more sustainable and energy-efficient home practices. Many people unknowingly waste energy and resources during daily cleaning tasks. I wanted to explore how artificial intelligence could help individuals make smarter, eco-friendly decisions in their homes while keeping the experience simple and accessible.
What I Learned
While building this project, I learned how AI systems can be integrated into web applications to provide real-time intelligent responses. I also improved my understanding of frontend development, user experience design, and how to structure a project so that it clearly communicates both functionality and impact. Most importantly, I learned how technology can be designed not just for convenience, but also for sustainability.
How I Built the Project
The project was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend interface. I designed a clean and responsive layout to ensure it is easy for users to interact with. An AI-powered assistant was integrated to provide sustainability-focused advice based on user input.
The system follows this simple flow:
User Input → AI Processing → Response Display
This allows users to ask questions such as energy-saving tips or eco-friendly cleaning methods and receive instant guidance.
Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges I faced was figuring out how to securely integrate an AI API without exposing sensitive keys in the frontend. I also had to carefully design the user interface to make it simple while still feeling modern and intelligent.
