Inspiration

We, as high schoolers, have too much going on in our lives. We have to deal with school, extracurriculars, sports, fun, home, and for seniors, college apps. Not only high schoolers, but even adults, have so much responsibility and things to deal with in their lives, which makes it difficult to keep up with the news. Not just any news, news that they care about and want to learn about, quickly. That's what sparked the idea for The Honest Report

What it does

The website allows users to scroll through a Tik-Tok like algorithm of cards. Instead of videos, it's news articles that are all summarized into bitesize mini articles, all easy to read in under 30 seconds, that inform the user everything going on in the world. Talk to an AI bot or a friend about the article within the website

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we faced while building the project is the process of collaborating with others. The many merge requests we dealt with were insane, and it made it hard, but we got through it, and finished the product with the features we want for it.

What's next for The Honest Report

We plan to expand the Honest Report, with a system to filter through categories of new articles, and a public forum for each, which allows users globally to discuss articles. We hope for a release in the coming month or so, and maybe even a mobile app. With dedicated work and time put into it, we believe it can scale amazingly and will be useful to a large group of people.
