Project Scope
the.digital.grapevine uses blockchain technology to store information electronically; relating to the production/supply chain/distribution & consumption of wine.
We are looking to work with producers/manufacturers/suppliers to bring a fun & exciting system to track vinification from grape to glass.
Utilising non-fungible token (NFT) technology, the.digital.grapevine has created a collection of character based NFT's representing wine collections from around the world.
Possible NFT use cases:
- Tracking wine production supply chain from grape to glass
- Bring immutable authentication to wine ownership
- RFID/QR codes providing 1-2-1 physical to digital relationship
- Smart contracts to burn/change NFT properties when bottle has been consumed (changing grape character to 'squashed grape' image)
- Fun way to engage and introduce a global, passionate, wine-loving community into web3 and digital collectibles
the.digital.grapevine collection of grape characters can be used to represent an individual batch/collection of wine (region, grape, age etc.).
NFT Properties:
Background:
- Wine producing countries; Spain, France, Italy, Australia etc.
- Wine region; Rioja, Loire, Bordeaux etc.
- Grape varieties; Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon/Pinot Noir etc.
- Year/Vintage
Grape Characteristics:
- Male/Female (2 options)
- Age (2 options; young/old)
- Grape colour (2 options; red/white)
- Hat/hair (1 male/1 female per country)
- Eye colour (3 options; blue/green/brown)
- Eye shape (Fully open/half closed)
Other future collections would look to utilise the same concept and work with other beverage producers/suppliers; whisky, tequila, brandy etc.
