We always had trouble understanding what the situation of San Ramon is. We at least had a general understanding of world politics, but in our own cities, we were clueless. After thinking a bit, we realized that the legal documents were the problem. Those document had so much fluff and were way too long and complicated for the average person to understand, so we came up with the Daily Clarifier. This web application can fact check and summarize articles and legal documents, making sure that users know they're getting the most unfiltered, factual info about the state of their communities. We built it in primarily Rust, with all of us working on separate things once we were able to come up with this idea. Getting our project to be able to push to the GitHub, and getting the AI to work were the two hardest things, just because of the sheer amount of errors and hours thrown onto it. We're proud that we finally got it to work properly, and fact check, which we think is a valuable feature that can be the difference from knowing the right or wrong information. We grew more accustomed to working like a small professional team, pushing and pulling to GitHub. We want The Daily Clarifier to be able to handle more complex documents in the future, and more importantly, we want it to be able to fetch for current legal articles and documents so that people can casually open it up and catch up without any confusion.
