Inspiration
- The theme for the hackathon
- Emerging LLM AI technologies and access through APIs
What it does
- A simple chatroom alongside a bonfire to illicit a sense of peace with company.
How I built it
- Node.js and React to build the overall website (Started with create-react-app)
- Spline to design and model a bonfire 3D animation
- Github and Github Actions to manage and handle automatic build and deploy directly to Azure App Services
- Register and setup the domain with GoDaddy and Porkbun
- Host the website using Azure App Services
- Use of Infobip API to text me the status of my build and deployment
- Call the OpenAI API to send and receive GPT-4 text generation conversation
- Website Icon built using Figma and exported to *.ico format using plugins
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
This is my first hackathon and I'm glad I was able to produce a cool product, and I got to learn and build my project using all new technologies to me. I'm a Medical Sciences student doing Bioinformatics, so my technical experience mainly comprises of scripting and command line applications in Python and R. Since I don't have any experience creating websites and GUIs connected to a backend, I wanted to produce something so I know how the process and pipeline works. I am happy with the result, and hope to explore React and other similar frameworks more to be able to host and share projects that others can use.
What I learned

- Using GitHub Actions to build and deploy products
- Use of APIs (infobip, OpenAI)
