Inspiration

Productivity is something we all want to maintain. However, it is not always easy to maintain our focus, since we can find ourselves constantly distracted with other activities.

What it does

Tempus is a time management and motivation mobile app that allows users to maximize their productivity and focus. It randomly generates motivational quotes, provides a timer to help users stay focused, as well as a task to-do list and calendar to plan one's priorities ahead of time.

How we built it

We built it using Dart and Flutter and additional tools including Figma, SQLite, and Zen Quotes API.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge was figuring out how to access data across multiple pages in the app as well as rendering their changes at appropriate times.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we worked hard on the UI of the app, since we're not so familiar with app design.

What we learned

We learned about using Flutter widgets as well as making API and SQLite requests through Dart.

What's next for Tempus

The next thing would be to add a locking mechanism so that users cannot access the rest of their phone when using the app to stay focused. We would also implement notifications for the task and timer.
