Inspiration
Project was inspired by visualizations in general, and as well as IKEA FREKVENS device and good ol windows media player, which I didn't love too much at a time=)
What it does
It's reacts for any sounds that you mic hears. If run in public spaces, it's going to react on every sound around. In theory it can be a great visualizer on musical parties or even gigs. It have the ability to tweak sensitivity and visualization to the preference of user.
How we built it
With a detailed PRD it was easy to build almost in a single shot. I tried in different AI's and different kind's of LLM's, but I think this one is awesome. Adding different settings and color options really made app fun and quite stunning in some modes.
Challenges we ran into
Ideally I wanted to create an app that react on every system sound, not only the microphone. But as in systems like MacOS it's pretty tricky to do without additional tweaks and changing settings, I decided to opt out this idea. Good thing is that app can also work on phones and become mobile audio visualizer. I was thinking to switch native ios or macos, but it seems to be too complex, so I stayed at web and happy with my choice.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Matrix & Predator combined with ASCII views are very nice and original idea, at least I tend to think so:) I really love ASCII output and how it can be handled.
What we learned
With the right prompt and configuration, even complex apps can be done on web.
What's next for Audio Reactor
Might need to fix few bugs, optimize code, add some features and pack beautifully.
