Inspiration

We enjoy visual novels and wanted to create one that honors the WPI culture in a fun and lighthearted way.

What it does

It flips you through an interactive story where you can attempt to win over a fellow WPI student. There is a relationship point counter that changes as you answer questions. It also has home-made visuals which change with the dialogue.

How we built it

All the art was created in procreate, the coding was done in python using the Renpy engine.

Challenges we ran into

Time. We thought we could get more done than we did, so we ended up cutting the product a bit short, we do have the entre script though.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The art and how we let our humor shine through in the writing of the script.

What we learned

Be more realistic about what you can get done in less than 3 days, and maybe have a bigger team if you want to be ambitious.

What's next for TechDates

Maybe finishing it, if people like it we may try and finish this route and add more characters that you can date.
